Juan is a PhD student in Transportation Engineering, leading R&D projects on traffic estimation using advanced modeling techniques in collaboration with the City of Edmonton.
He holds an MSc with distinction in Urban Spatial Science from University College London, where he developed deep learning tools for the United Nations, and an Honours BSc from the University of Toronto.
He has worked as a data scientist on global research projects, applying machine learning, GIS, and simulation to urban and infrastructure challenges. His expertise spans remote sensing, network science, geostatistics, and agent-based modeling, with applications in transportation and urban planning.
