Yunping Huang
Postdoctoral Researcher — University of Calgary
Dr. Yunping Huang is a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Calgary, where her work sits at the intersection of intelligent transportation systems, network optimization, and emerging vehicle technologies.
Dr. Huang earned her B.S. in Traffic Engineering and M.S. in Transportation Planning and Management from Sun Yat-sen University, China, followed by a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2024). In 2022, she was a Visiting Scholar at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), one of Europe’s leading technical institutions.
Her research advances the modeling, management, and control of transportation systems — with a particular focus on connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), mixed autonomy traffic networks, ride-sourcing and ride-sharing systems, and fairness and equity in transportation planning. Her work directly supports Canada’s evolving priorities around smart mobility, sustainable urban transport, and the responsible integration of automated vehicle technologies.
Dr. Huang has published in premier transportation journals including Transportation Research Parts B, C, and E, and has presented at the International Symposium on Transportation and Traffic Theory (ISTTT).
