

Steve Henderson
Director ITS — ATS Traffic
Steve Henderson is a senior leader in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) with over 20 years of experience spanning operations, sales, and technology leadership, including more than a decade dedicated to ITS solutions. He currently serves as Director of ITS for Canada and the Pacific Northwest at ATS Traffic, where he leads national programs delivering advanced traffic management systems, smart mobility infrastructure, and large scale traffic data collection initiatives for municipal, provincial, and private sector clients.
Steve is known for his ability to bridge technical strategy with real world field deployment, guiding projects that include adaptive signal systems, smart intersections, radar and video detection, connected vehicle (V2X) infrastructure, and crosswalk safety technologies. He works closely with transportation agencies and consultants to translate complex mobility challenges into practical, data driven solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and long term network planning.
An active contributor to the ITS community, Steve is a long standing member of ITS Canada and regularly participates in industry working groups, pilot programs, and conference initiatives. As Co Chair of the 2026 ITS Canada Conference & Exhibition in Edmonton, he is focused on fostering collaboration across the public and private sectors and advancing the national conversation on smart mobility, traffic safety, and future ready transportation systems.
